I heard this
song yesterday, and the English lyrics really struck me. Many of us are
parenting or are involved in the lives of children who, by no choice of their
own, are hurting. Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for
these precious ones and a time for us to offer more fervent prayer on their
behalf. When I heard this song, I found myself meditating on the
lyrics...slightly changed... If you are parenting a hurting child or
ministering to a hurting child, I hope this encourages you too.
I pray you'll be her eyes
And watch her where she goes
And help her to be wise
In times when she can't know
Let this be our
prayer
when she's lost her way
Lead her to a place
Guide her with your grace
To a place where she'll feel safe
And hold it in her heart
When stars go out each night
Let this be our prayer
When shadows fill her day
Lead her to a place
Guide her with your grace
Give her faith so she'll feel safe
We ask that life be kind
And watch her from above
We hope her soul will find
Another soul to love
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Needs to find a place
Guide her with your grace
Give her faith so she'll feel safe
