December Photo Project: Day 21

Yesterday, we went down and back to Kampala in one day. It was kind of a crazy day. haha... We left at 5am and didn't get back until 10 pm. Benaiah, Talitha and I had a few hours to burn at the mall while Daddy did some errands.

We had a bit of fun in a costume/ toy store...

And we listened to this awesome little band. They sounded really nice and were playing a lot of classic hymns. It was a real blessing!

While we were waiting for Daddy to come pick us up, this little girl was standing next to me, then she put her head in my lap and promptly fell asleep...still standing up!! haha!

And here is the awesomeness that I managed to capture a photo of...haha...Santa comin' to town! There are many reasons we love Uganda...sightings like this being at the top.

December Photo Project: Day 20

On Wednesday, the youth in the church decorated Christmas cookies and then we went Christmas Caroling. It was so much fun! For most of the kids, caroling was a brand new idea and experience.

I wasn't intending for this to be my picture for the day, but it was such a crazy busy day that this was all I got.

Yes...we killed the Christmas turkey yesterday. This is Lego building at it's finest, folks... haha!

Our tradition has been to go get milkshakes after the girls' dance recitals. Because of scheduling conflicts this year, we weren't able to go right after. But today we made good on that tradition and had a grand time of it.

Yesterday the Jacksons hosted a good ol' fashioned American BBQ for the students of KTC. Before lunch, they played football (soccer)... married students against single students. The marrieds won. The singles insisted that it was because they don't have wives who make them good food to keep them strong. haha!

Prayer Requests

::That we will be so filled with the Spirit so that we become "unstoppable" in the building of Christ's kingdom here in Uganda.

::Good health for all of us and particularly for Dianna's struggles with Primary Adrenal Insufficiency (Addison's disease), Rheumatoid Arthritis and the fatigue/daily struggles that come with chronic illness.

::For KTC: Pray for Eric's teaching to be effective and to be a blessing to the local churches. Pray that God will provide financially for the students of KTC, so that even while they forgo work in order to attend, they will still be able to provide for their families.

::Pray for our church in Mbale. Pray that God will continue to bless her with strong spiritual growth. Pray for the ladies' Bible study on Friday afternoons and the men's Bible study on Saturday morning.

::Pray for our outreach to the youth. Pray that our church's youth would grow in wisdom and be filled with the Holy Spirit so that they would resist the temptations of the world and be lights in the darkness. Pray for the weekly programs for the youth: Friday morning breakfast club for primary students, Wednesday evening supper and Bible study for secondary students, Thursday open compound and Sunday open compound & circle time.

::Pray that our team's diaconal projects in Mbale would be blessed and be used to show great mercy to the people here. Currently, that includes medical treatment at a local clinic (pray for continuing funds and good accountability), and a monthly stipend to the deacons at each of our village churches so they can learn to meet their own diaconal needs (pray that God would continue to provide the resources for this and that the deacons would have wisdom in distributing the funds).

::Pray for education for the youth. Some of our village churches are operating primary schools--pray that the students will receive a solid Christian education. Pray also for the students that attend our church in Mbale to have the school fees they need to be able to attend school and that the students would be diligent to study hard.

::Pray for the pastors of the 10 churches in our presbytery that we work with. Pray that God will bless them with much Holy Spirit power to do their work to the glory of God.
