DPP #12 Prayer Request Update

I went to visit this sweet little one twice today.  The first time was a sweet answer to prayer as momma and baby were both sound asleep.  Later in the afternoon, I went back.  Momma and baby were there and wide awake.  Upon seeing them, I had a (hilarious) eye-opening moment...

Baby had no clothes on and it turns out...

Baby is a boy...

His name?  Chris :)

(In my defense...(because I know you are laughing with me right now...) in Ugandan English 'Chris' and 'Grace' sound almost identical and also 'he' and 'she' are used interchangeably to refer to both boys and girls.  There have been countless times over the last few months when we have not known if a child was a girl or a boy because of the lack of genderized pronoun usage...and then of course, there are awkward moments when you are listening to the Sunday School teacher and he proclaims, " and then She died for our sins!"...just sayin' :)

So thanks for praying for Grace and please continue to pray for Chris.

The burns stretch all the way down his torso, arm and leg.  They expect him to be at the clinic for a week or more.  I told his mom that my friends in America were praying for them and she was so thankful to hear that.  She would like us to pray that he would begin to eat again and that he would sleep well at night.  Pray for pain tolerance.  And of course, I'm praying that no infection would set in.  Wounds heal very slowly here and are often prone to infection.
